Environment Essays

Quite a while ago, a health volunteer and I led a series of high school English classes taught by a fellow volunteer. After the STI and deforestation discussions, the teacher had the students write up short essays about what they had learned. I recently came across some of my favorite quotes from the essays and thought I’d share:

“If I had used the trees he could have re-use materials. If I had drunk clean water, I brought the healthy. If I were forbidden, I would away the animal. If I she had burned jungles, she would fled the lemur. If you burn the forest, you will born desert.”

“Environment is together the beings living.”

“If I have love in the life is prevention health and protect environment.”

“We no longer dare to swim in the river because the water is too dirty. The fish in these rivers become polluted and decrease in number…Everybody should think that enemy is pollution.”

“Time and again at Shell we’re discovering the rewards of respecting the environment when doing business. If we’re exploring for oil and gas reserves in sensitive areas of the world, we consult widely with different and global interest groups.” [Obviously this was copied from a Shell ad, probably from a magazine…cheating is extremely widespread in schools here.]

“If I were tall, I would plant trees in the forest.”

“Positivements, if he had studies, he could have education about environment and health.”

“In social life we need good environment. They are necessary and surround our entire life.”
